Objective: Gain an understanding of how to plan and schedule Preventive Maintenance Services in myData.
Planning and Scheduling Preventative Maintenance Services
The following factors may be considered when preparing the monthly Preventative Maintenance (PM) Service schedule:
- Fleet services goal of high ratio of scheduled work to unscheduled work;
- Input from Workshop Supervisors;
- Historical plant, vehicle and equipment data;
- Historical workshop data;
- Estimated service times;
- Available labour hours;
- Work Ticket priorities;
- PM Servicing to be performed on-site or at workshop;
- Compliance with the requirements of the National heavy vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS); and
- Predicted workloads of Fleet Workshops.
Work Ticket Priorities:
- Essential Service Items e.g. Garbage Trucks and Equipment operating in 'Emergency' Conditions;
- Scheduled Maintenance: Plant, vehicles, and equipment that are available for PM Servicing at the agreed scheduled time and date; and
- Unscheduled Maintenance.
Preventative Maintenance Schedules are determined by either Manufacturers Specification or by Council Policy.
PM Schedules are created and managed in the myData Fleet Module.
Once created the user can run the PM Scheduling reports from the Fleet manager's pager to view all due and overdue PM items, or view the PM TAB in the Asset Register to view and individual items PM schedules.
